Wooden Deck design Finishes

There are many different suppliers for wooden deck boards and the most used is a soft wood pressure treated board available in 120mm x 25mm and 150mm wide x 32mm. We do install every kind of wood dependent on your desire. Below shows how to finish a wooden decked area and what we do to ensure a long life for your deck.

The most critical part of a wooden deck is water management - water rots your frame and boards if not managed and or poorly installed. Mould will grow and the area can become slippy this is why we do what we do and consider water in the design and 100% in the installation.  " It will look great for a long long time if installed correctly"

"Waterfall" Finish

The simplest finish to a deck where the boards and plunge cut with a 2 cm overhang from the fascia board allowing water to simply "waterfall" off the edge and drain away.

"Butt" Finish

We call this a butt finish as the fascia board in theory butts up against the edge of the deck boards

However not all is as it seems as the fascia is stepped off allowing for a 5mm channel for the water to drain away into - this means that the joist isn't taking all the water and rotting.

This is what make us different from many installers - we want your deck to last!!!

"Picture Frame" Finish

The picture frame finish is a tidier finish in our opinion, little bit more work to achieve with the frame but the result is very tidy. This again allows for a 5mm drainage channel for water to drain into again portecting the joist from rotting.
